Anyone recommend books on mending the relationship between children and non-custodial parents?

Ex-wife has kept me fromm seeing my daughters for five years. They are now 12 and 15 years old. First visit, that was court ordered did not go so well, when they came to visit me for a week.
So far, both answers are good, and if I could, I would vote you both the best.

First off a book cannot tell you how to love your kids.
Every second you have with your kids needs to be honest not rehearsed.
Ask your girls what they are interested in what they like to do for fun. Never let their be an awkward conversation because they will be uncomfortable and your daddy you don’t want them uncomfortable. My father was out of my life for 7 years and I saw him last year and it was a disaster. I felt like an outcast when i saw him with his other kids. I’m now 18 and i don’t talk to him.
Let your kids be your main focus if you want to win their love .
just a phone call out of the blue make all the difference in the world.(DO NOT TALK ABOUT WHO WAS AT FAULT FOR YOUR ABSENCE) the kids will have no reason not to side with mommy. Be smart about mending this future relationship think before you do. Show them you love them and you want to know them.
