There will be instances wherein a relationship starts to get monotonous. And more often than not, couples will tend to start feeling less towards each other, especially if nothing was done to rekindle passion. Not to mention other factors which may have been plaguing the relationship like unresolved issues or recurring problems. When these things happen, one or both individuals may start looking for what the relationship lacks in someone else’s company resulting into infidelity or cheating.

However, there are also times when people who committed infidelity starts realizing the importance of the other person and what they have gone through causing him to behave otherwise. But then again, is it really even worth it to work out something which you have lost your passion for? Would it not be better to just move on to a new relationship and completely end the previous relationship?

The answer to such questions actually varies depending on the circumstances and who you are asking. Each individual has their own personal outlook. Some believe that it is useless to even bother working out a relationship when you already are having an illegitimate affair with someone else. The rationale behind this thinking is you would never bother cheating in the first place if you did not feel any spark or strong attraction for the new person and or if you still have affection towards your original lover. They believe that a person will not behave in such a manner if he or she was not given a good reason to do so. Another thing is that some people believe otherwise to the ideal that he or she should work out something since having problems in relationships are normal and if you really love your partner, then you should be willing to set aside differences and resolve any issue that may overwhelm the relationship instead of cheating.

But at the end of the day, you would ask; is it even worth doing so? The answer is if you believe that it is worth the effort and you still have strong feelings towards the other person then you should go ahead and mend it. Especially if the other person is willing to work it out and ready to take responsibility for his or her actions as well. However, if the other person is already showing signs of disinterest and or is maltreating or abusing you, then you should not even bother thinking about it and should rather work out this new relationship.

To sum it all up, there are really no right or wrong answers but only decisions and results and if what you are doing is working and doing you well then maybe that is the best thing to do.
