Grafenberg spot. This is located about an inch up the front wall of the vaginal tract. It also has a different texture from the rest of the vaginal tract.

And the best way for a girl to orgasm depends on the girl!

It comes from the name of the doctor who “discovered” it, Ernst Gräfenberg. It’s supposedly a highly erogenous spot on the front of the vagina that feels slighty raised and soft.

It is named after Dr. Grafenberg who discovered this particularly sensitive location in the woman’s vagina in 1950, hence grafenberg spot or the G-spot.

G-spot is actually a bean-shaped gland that is located about 2 inches inside the vagina and is analogous to the male prostate. You can reach it best by using your fingers to about the 2nd joint and pointing up (as if you were doing a “come here” motion) toward the belly button. There should be a place that is a little rougher to the touch than the surrouning area under the pubic bone. Some have described it as feeling like the roof of your mouth.

The woman will respond positively only when she is already aroused–i.e. you can’t skimp on foreplay beforehand, guys. It has even been shown that the gland enlarges in size when the woman is sexually aroused.

There has been some debate as to whether the G-spot exists at all. This is partly due to the fact that some women appear to respond more strongly to a G-spot stimulation than others. This should be the cue for the men to explore where the G-spot is exactly and discuss what makes the woman feel best.

Some women have claimed to achieve multiple orgasms by stimulating this area. As noted before, the G-spot is best stimulated using fingers since they can be directed precisely. But the man can also stimulate this area very well with his penis particularly in positions where man is behind the woman (e.g. doggy-style) and making shallow thrusts against her front vaginal wall. If the man’s penis naturally curve upward, he can also reach the area well in missionary position.

Interesting side note, women’s vaginal wall becomes thinner with age and hence the G-spot becomes more pronounced and easier to stimulate as the woman gets older. It is believed that this is one of the reasons why women reach their sexual peak in their 30′s and 40′s.

G stands for “Grafenberg” (the doctor who discovered this spot).

I like to call it the Greatorgasm-Spot.

Best way is to start slow, with a lot of anticipation…
